About Me, Biography

I completed my secondary and high school education at Aydın Adnan Menderes Anatolian High School and graduated from Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine.

I became a specialist in Pediatrics at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in 2010 and a subspecialist in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology in 2013. During and after my subspecialty training in Pediatric Allergy and Immunology, I served as the "Junior Member Afilliates Representative" from Turkey within the European Academy of Allergy and Clinical Immunology (EAACI) in the field of allergic diseases in children, and later I joined the working group’s executive board as a senior member in the same field. I have chaired sessions and served as a speaker at numerous international academic activities, congresses, meetings, and events.

I contributed to the preparation of many guidelines and consensus reports related to allergic diseases developed under the auspices of EAACI. During this period, I was awarded the EAACI Research Fellowship and conducted laboratory work at the Swiss Allergy and Asthma Institute in Davos, Switzerland.

I have participated as a researcher in important studies on asthma, acute and chronic urticaria, food allergy, analgesic and antibiotic allergy, allergic rhinitis, allergy immunotherapy, and respiratory allergies. I have also authored and edited various books in my subspecialty field. I received the degree as Associate Professor in 2017 and Professor in 2022.

Since 2019, I continued my academic activities at Istanbul Medeniyet University Faculty of Medicine as a Faculty Member. I also actively participated in the establishment of the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Training Clinic at Istanbul Medeniyet University Göztepe Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital.

At Göztepe Prof. Dr. Süleyman Yalçın City Hospital, where the Pediatric Allergy and Immunology Department receives over 25,000 applications annually, I was active in providing outpatient and inpatient care for all patients in infancy, childhood, and adolescence. Over the years, I have been treating and following-up of many patients diagnosed with asthma, allergic rhinitis, atopic eczema, food and drug allergies, and immunodeficiency. I continue my professional career in my private office located on Bağdat Avenue in Kadıköy.

In addition to delivering numerous practical and theoretical courses for undergraduate and specialty medical education, I have contributed significantly to medical education coordination and accreditation. I have served as a reviewer for many national and international journals published in the fields of pediatric health and diseases, allergy, and immunology. Currently, I act as an assistant editor for the journal Allergy and Asthma Allergy Immunology, published under the Turkish National Allergy and Clinical Immunology Society.
